Obituary of Evelyn Lyons

Evelyn Joyce Lyons of Marysville, NB, went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 26, 2017 at York Care Centre. She was the beloved wife of Millett Lyons. Born on June 22, 1924 in Marysville, NB, she was the daughter of the late Bernard and Amanda Stafford. Evelyn worked at the Marysville Cotton Mill in retail in her younger years, and was a Sales Associate for Sears Canada. She was a long-time member of Crosspoint Wesleyan Church and was active in various church groups. Evelyn loved and enjoyed her family and friends. In addition to her husband of 73years, Evelyn is survived by her children, Gary Lyons (Gail) of Moncton, NB and Deborah Dickeson (Ken) of Marysville, NB; grandchildren, Kimberly Rowe and Mark Lyons both of Saint John, NB, Heather Lyons-MacKay and Andrea Lyons-Kewley both of Alberta and Dana Dickeson (Tricia) of Marysville, NB; great grandchildren, Breanna, Damon, Cora, Emilie and Jacob; sisters, Joan Lyons of Marysville, NB, Helen Watson of Lexington, South Carolina, USA, Frances Goodspeed of Saint John, NB and Jean Lyons of Stanley, NB; brother, Dale Stafford (Grace) of Zealand, NB; many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Brian Lyons; grandson, Craig Dickeson; sisters, Grace, Rita and Joyce; brothers, Murray “Bill”, Cecil, Ron, Hilton, Pat, Doug and Ritchie Stafford. A Memorial Service will take place at Crosspoint Wesleyan Church on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at 10:30 am with Rev. John Symonds officiating and Rev. Mark Brewer assisting. Interment will take place following the service in Olivet Wesleyan Cemetery. There will be a reception in the Fellowship Room.
