Obituary of James Stith

James O. Stith, 79, of Fredericton, NB, passed away on June 5, 2017 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on August 7, 1937 in Weyburn, SK, Jim lived an extraordinary life. Having left the farm at age 18 to join the Royal Canadian Air Force, he served his country as a navigator and a pilot until he retired and started a second career at the NB Emergency Measures Organization, where he eventually became both the Executive Director and the Provincial Fire Marshal. Upon his retirement from the civil service Jim enjoyed working with his friends on his model trains and making wine. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Jacqueline Stith; two sons, Jim Stith (Joan) of Fredericton, NB and Mike Stith (Laurie) of Sooke, BC; his grandchildren, Michael Stith of Fredericton, NB and Alannah Stith of Edmonton, AB; his sisters, Marcia Johns of Delta, BC and Janice Stith of Regina, SK and his loyal cat, Andy. He was predeceased by his parents, Orville and Edna Stith and his brother, Brian Stith. At his request, no visitation will be held.
