Obituary of Melvin McDonald

The passing of Melvin Joseph McDonald, of Harvey, NB, occurred on June 3, 2017 at Hospice House Fredericton. Born on April 16, 1945 in Doaktown, NB, he was a son of the late Everett and Margaret (Bowes) McDonald. He was a sprinkler fitter by trade and worked within the fire protection industry for 40 years. Melvin is survived by his son, Brent McDonald of Fredericton, NB; daughters, Jillian Greer of Fredericton, NB, Michelle Kendall of Geary, NB and Katelyn Partridge (Richard) of Oromocto, NB; grandchildren, Brenten, Brentana, Brooklyn, Emma, Jacob, Logan and Carter; great grandchild, Ryker; sisters, Freda Grey (Ted) and Patricia Hunter both of Fredericton, NB, Louise Peterson (Clifton) of Blissfield, NB; brothers, John (Isabelle) and Ron McDonald both of Fredericton, NB. Melvin is also survived by Susan McDonald and her parents, David and Pauline Groves of Fredericton, NB. In addition to his parents, Melvin was predeceased by his son-in-law, Brian Kendall; infant sister, Eleanor Ann and nephew, Kent Hunter. A Memorial Service will be held from York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at 2 pm with Rev. Paul McGrattan officiating. A Private burial will take place in Holy Name of Mary Cemetery, Blissfield, NB at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Hospice House Fredericton.
