Obituary of Philip Giberson
Philip Sidney Allen Giberson passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at the Nashwaak Villa in Stanley, after a lengthy illness. Born in 1929 in Riverbank, NB, he grew up in Bath and graduated from Bath High School. He attended Normal School and taught in McAdam, Glen Falls, and Fredericton Junction. Called to the ministry, he graduated from Trinity College in Dunedin, Florida and pastored several Baptist churches in the Carleton County area. He retired to Fredericton and worked in the tour business for several years, starting a successful tour business with his wife Ursula, who died in 2009.
The youngest of seven children, Philip is survived by his sisters, Norma (Robert) Tuff and Pearl (Lloyd) McNair; brother, Saunders (Louise) Giberson; children, Karl (Myrna) and Nancy (Stephen); six grandchildren, and seven-soon-to-be-nine great grandchildren.
Philip lived a rich happy life, dominated by his love and sacrificial concern for his family. It was fitting that his last days at the Nashwaak Villa saw visits from his children, his grandchildren and his great grandchildren. His lifelong celebration of the importance of family continues in the lives of those who shared his life. The families are deeply appreciative of the wonderful care provided for Philip by the kind and generous staff of the Nashwaak Villa.
