Obituary of Samuel Boone

Samuel “Sam” Neil LeRoy Boone of Fredericton, NB, passed away with his family by his side on Monday, May 29, 2017 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on July 21, 1927 in Tay Mills, NB, he was the son of the late Hayward and Etta (Plume) Boone. Sam was a Milkman for Thistle Dairy for many years, and retired as a custodian from the D.O.T. sign shop. He was a member of Nashwaaksis United Church; and also a past member of the Men’s Orange Lodge, Woodlands, NB. In his younger years, Sam worked in the woods and it remained his passion throughout his life. He had a love for Clydesdales and reminiscing about his own team. He loved his family, and especially enjoyed spending time watching his grandchildren participate in sports and playing many card games with them. In addition to his wife of 63 years, Maxine (Currie) Boone, he is survived by his daughter, Bonnie Manzer (Frank); son, Tim Boone (Laurie); grandchildren, Jody Boone (Laura) and Leslie Boone-Morrell (Jeffrey); sister, Rhonda Graham; brother in law, Wilbert Currie (Donna); nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Robert Boone and brother in law, Raymond Graham. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at Nashwaaksis United Church on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at 11 am with Rev. J. D. Kennedy officiating. Interment will take place in Cardigan United Church Cemetery. The family wish to express a special thanks to Dr. Hauman, the nurses of 3SW and John and Pierre from Bay Shore.
