Obituary of Elizabeth Ashfield

The passing of Elizabeth Anne Ashfield of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late Weldon Ashfield occurred on Monday, May 22, 2017 at Hospice Fredericton. Born on April 12, 1935 in Marysville, NB, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Annie (Lambert) Loney. Elizabeth was a member of Fredericton Christian Church. She enjoyed knitting, quilting and gardening. Elizabeth also volunteered with the Alzheimer Society and with York Care Centre. Elizabeth is survived by her daughter, Faye Carlson (Robert) of Innisfail, AB; brother, Harold Loney (Helen) of Nova Scotia; brother-in-law, Allison Ashfield (Willa) of St. Thomas, ON; sister-in-law, Lois Loney of Ontario. Besides her husband and parents, Elizabeth was predeceased by her brothers, Thomas and Edward Loney. There will be no visitation by request. A Memorial Service will take place from Fredericton Christian Church, 103 Bloor Street, Fredericton, on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at 2 pm with Pastor Jason McVicar officiating. Interment will take place in Stirling United Cemetery, Tay Creek, NB at a later date. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Hospice Fredericton, York Foundation or the Alzheimer Society of New Brunswick.
