Willard Jenkins & Nancy McCarthy posted a condolence

Richard,
Although don't I know the circumstances of your mother's passing, I do know that this will be a difficult day for you and your family.
I haven't seen your mother in years but I have very fond memories of her and I never think of Grand Manan without thinking of her.
She lived a long and full life and I am sure you are grateful for that.
We must make every effort to see each other sometime over the summer.
Time certainly does fly by...
Thoughts are with you and your family.
Regards,
Willard and Nancy

Your Mom, Ivy Brown, and my Mom, Audrey Merritt were all graduates of the old General. After retirement they had a great time playing bridge and talking about their lives at the General. When I was home from the Arctic in the summer I got to make up the forth and did not badly with your Mom's encouragement. She was a feisty lady who didn't suffer fools but would lend a helping hand whenever and wherever she could. I last saw your Mom when she was in the Carleton Kirk nursing home, along with my Mom. We had a great time playing dominos in the dining room. It is so sad to see the end of that era.

Richard - I am not sure if you will remember me but I lived in Gagetown and remember you when you stayed with Bea and Percy.Your mother and my mother both graduated from the General together. My mom (Bernice Ferris Osborne Piers), your mom, Lois Floyd and Jean Young were friends for years and all came to my mother's 80th birthday. They were great friends and loved to tell stories from those years at the General and Murdock. There will be lots of laughs and story telling in heaven now. I am sorry for your loss, it never is easy to lose some one close.
