Obituary of Margaret Cowie

The passing of Margaret Irene Cowie of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late Walter Cowie occurred on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at York Care Centre. Born on February 16, 1935 in Priceville, NB, she was the daughter of the late John and Laura (Price) Wellwood. In addition to her canine companion, Pebbles; Margaret is survived by her three daughters, Ruth Lyons (Gary) of Bloomfield Ridge, NB, Millie Stewart (Alton) of Brackley Point, PEI and Beth Cowie (Jason Nash) of Three Tree Creek, NB; grandchildren, Nicholas, Cody, Mitchell, Tommy, Calvin and Travis. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sisters, Inez Storey, Katherine Connors, Phyllis Cowie, Eva Latta and brother, Murray Wellwood. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 from 12-2 pm followed by a Funeral Service at 2 pm with Rev. Neil Jasperse officiating. Interment will take place Douglas Rural Cemetery, Fredericton, NB at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer Society.
