Obituary of William Curtis

The passing of William "Bill" Allan Curtis of Fredericton, NB, husband of the late Elizabeth “Betty” (Jordan) Curtis occurred on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at York Care Centre. Born on December 31, 1929 in Fredericton, NB he was the son of the late Otto and Bessie (Finnie) Curtis. Bill’s greatest passion in his life was Kingdom building by serving God through his local church. He loved bringing kids to Sunday school as a bus captain, and also enjoyed visitation and his work with Young Peoples. He served on the church board for many years and also was an active member of the Gideons. He loved sharing his faith and distributing the good news of the gospel. Bill was also a wonderful recorder of the family memories. He was always behind the camera. He loved his family and wanted us to remember all the good times we shared together. Music spoke to his soul. He loved raising his voice in congregation or choral music and even made his own on his old guitar and harmonica. William is survived by his daughters, Cathy Hachey (John) of Brown’s Flat, NB and Susan Weisenburger (Daryl) of Spruce Grove, AB; son, Robbie Curtis (Julie) of Fredericton, NB; grandchildren, Kendra, Adam, Laura, Kohl and Drew; great grandchildren, Mya, Jace, Carmine, Corbin and Seth; brothers, Irvine and John Curtis; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his son, Terry Curtis; grandson, Michael Curtis; brothers, Tom Curtis and Ab Wallace. Visitation will take place at Corbett Avenue Wesleyan Church, 53 Corbett Avenue, Fredericton, NB on Monday, April 17, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Memorial Service will take place at Corbett Avenue Wesleyan Church on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at 2 pm with Susan Weisenburger officiating and Rev. Peter Thomas and Pastor Normand McDonald assisting. Interment will take place in Sunny Bank Cemetery at a later date. The family wish to express their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and staff at York Care Centre for their care and compassion. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Gideon Bible Plan, New Brunswick Heart and Stoke Foundation or the Corbett Avenue Wesleyan Church.
