Obituary of Margaret Yerxa

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Margaret “Jean” Yerxa of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late Guy Frederick Yerxa which occurred on April 13, 2017 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on August 22, 1928 in Mactaquac, NB, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Camilla (Burden) Wilson. Jean devoted her life to her family, church and community. She was an excellent cook and everyone enjoyed eating her cooking. Jean had a way of making everyone feel welcome and special. She was a member of Keswick United Baptist Church, a former Sunday school teacher and a member of WMS. Jean is survived by her one son, John Yerxa (Veronica) of Keswick Ridge, NB; two daughters, Sharon Black (Philip) of Kingsclear, NB and Faye King (Kevin) of Fredericton, NB; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; sisters, Ruth Gilmore of Keswick Ridge, NB and Hazel Grey (Gerald) both of Keswick Ridge, NB; brothers, Murray Wilson (Jean) of Mactaquac, NB and Kenneth Wilson (Mary) of Scotch Settlement, NB; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her daughters, Joyce Yerxa and Linda Calhoun; brother, Lloyd Wilson; sister, Helen Jackson. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Sunday, April 16, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from Keswick United Baptist Church on Monday, April 17 at 1 pm with Pastor Bev Jewett officiating. Interment will take place in Keswick Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the New Brunswick Kidney Foundation, Keswick United Baptist Church or the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation.
