Obituary of Theresa Sturgeon

The passing of Theresa Helena Ann Sturgeon of Doaktown, NB wife of Albert Sturgeon occurred on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on September 3, 1949 in Weavers Siding, NB, she was the daughter of the late Edward “Eddie” and Frances (Burns) Colford. She was a member of the Our Lady of the Annunciation Church. Theresa retired from teaching, after 35 years in Doaktown, NB. She placed family and friends ahead of herself, combining her love, compassion and unselfishness to bring warmth and understanding to everyone she met. From Saturday night cards and board games to music festivals and camping, she enjoyed conversations and sharing her cooking all with a smile that would light up a room. In addition to her husband, Theresa is survived by her daughter, Loey Parker (Stephen); son, Albert “Al” Sturgeon (Jenny Stewart); grandchildren, Bradley and Emily Parker, Rebecca and Carter Sturgeon; chosen grandchildren, Elizabeth Colford and Suzanne Milsom (Lex); brothers, Paul Colford (Alta) and Henry “Chuck” Colford (Martha); nieces, Jamie and Tanya, and nephew, Paul. Visitation will take place at Our Lady of the Annunciation Church on Monday, April 17, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Mass will take place at Our Lady of the Annunciation Church on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at 11 am with Father Godwin Kalu as celebrant. Interment will take place in Blissfield Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Our Lady of the Annunciation Church, New Brunswick Liver or Kidney Foundation or the charity of the donor’s choice.
