Obituary of Vincent Bartlett
The passing of Vincent Robert Bartlett of Stanley, NB, husband of the late Jeanne (Bury) Bartlett occurred on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at Nashwaak Villa. Born on March 9, 1921 in Williamsburg, NB, he was the son of the late Robert and Annie (O’Hara) Bartlett. Vincent was a Veteran of WWII. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Beaverbrook Branch # 80. Vincent worked for CNR for 26 years, retiring in 1986. He enjoyed his hobby farm, loved horses, his dog Buster, hockey and music.
Vincent is survived by his children, Danny Bartlett (Stella), Garry Bartlett (Angela), Richard Bartlett, Joanne Green (Brian) and Jennifer Barton (Tony); grandchildren, Darren Bartlett (Brandi), Nicolas Bartlett (Melissa), Evan Bartlett, April Savoie (Denis), Nicole Turnbull (Brett), Rebecca Barton (Adam) and Cassidy Barton; great grandchildren, Pierce and Zara; sister, Vivian Coughlan; brother, Robert Bartlett (Inez); step mother, Eva Bartlett; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his daughter, Carolyn Bartlett; siblings, Cora Bartlett-Scott, Carl Bartlett, Greta Street and Ottie Bartlett and brother in law, Gordie Coughlan.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Friday, April 14, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Members of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #80 are asked to assemble at the funeral home on Friday at 5:45 pm for a Legion Tribute Service. A Funeral Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at 2 pm with Pastor Gordon Mowry officiating. Pallbearers for the service will be Denis Savoie, Darren Bartlett, Nick Bartlett, Roger Flynn, Brett Turnbull and Adam Burgess. Honourary Pallbearer will be Keith Dorcas. Interment will be in Williamsburg Community Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion or the charity of the donor’s choice.
