Obituary of Jean Agnew
The passing of Jean Elizabeth Agnew of Fredericton, NB, wife of James Agnew, occurred on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Hospice Fredericton. Born on June 7, 1934 in Tay Mills, NB she was the daughter of the late James and Mary (Thomas) Wilkins. Jean enjoyed knitting for charities, puzzles, Bingo, and country music. She especially enjoyed spending time with family. Jean was the last remaining member of her family.
In addition to her husband, Jean is survived by her daughter, Ann Wall (Roland) of Smithfield, NB; sons, Roger (Jayne) and Mark (Ann Marie) McGeehan both of Fredericton, NB; chosen daughter, Becky McGeehan (Travis Sowers) of Scotch Lake, NB; grandchildren, Joshua (Wendy), Shyla (Norm), Paula, David, Michelle, Lisa (Gary) and Wendy (Tony); 10 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Jean was predeceased by her son, Garnet McGeehan; sisters, Julia Clowater, Ethel King, Maggie Painter, Ellen Stickles, Hilda Pellerine, and Greta Thomas; brothers, Garnet and Archibald Wilkins.
Visitation will take place on Monday, March 20, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB. A Funeral Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at 11 am with Rev. Canon Kevin Stockall officiating. Pallbearers for the service will be Ronnie Wilkins, Kevin Scott, Ronnie Clowater, Robin Stickles, Jonas Nash and Jody Melanson. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Hospice Fredericton.
