Obituary of Clara Phillips

The passing of Clara Evelyn Phillips of Fredericton, NB, wife of Earl Phillips, occurred on Sunday, March 12, 2017 at her residence. Born on July 22, 1932 in Dorne Ridge, NB, she was a daughter of the late Winslow and Matilda (Lawrence) Gallagher. Clara was a member of Nashwaaksis Baptist Church and was active in her community volunteering with the Red Cross, Soup Kitchen and Neighbour Link. In addition to her husband of 67 years, Clara is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Hanson (Charles) of Green Hill Lake, NB; three sons, Fred Phillips (Jan) of Ripples, NB, Brian Phillips (Veronica) of Lower Durham, NB and Blaine Phillips (Karen) of Douglas, NB; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren; four sisters, Guida Chapman of Nackawic, NB, Alberta Staples of Fredericton, NB, Freda Jones (Burpee) of Fredericton, NB and Madeline Sharpe (Raymond) of Zealand, NB; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Clara was predeceased by her granddaughter, Shelly Ann Palmer; three sisters, Josephine Gallagher, Greta Brewer and Queenie Brewer; six brothers, Ottie, Allison, Milford, Hurschel, Ralph and George Gallagher. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Monday, March 13, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at the Nashwaaksis Baptist Church on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at 11 am. Pallbearers will be Fred Phillips, Brian Phillips, Blaine Phillips, Jeremy Phillips, Chris Phillips and Gordon Hanson. Interment will take place in Douglas Rural Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, donations may be made to Greenhill Lake Camp, Nashwaaksis Baptist Church or the Canadian Red Cross. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
