Obituary of Shirley O'Donnell

The passing of Shirley Darlene O’Donnell of Boiestown, NB, wife of the late Donald O’Donnell occurred on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Central NB Nursing Home. Born on August 28, 1933 in McNamee, NB, she was the daughter of the late Wallace and Louise (Wilson) O’Donnell. Shirley loved being a homemaker and taking care of her family and the dogs. She was well known for her baking and cooking talents, and her door was always open to family and friends for a big meal with plenty of dessert, and a plate to take home. She had a large circle of friends and it was not unlike her to arrive at the door late at night with a tray of treats ready for a visit. She and her friends loved shopping followed by a stop at one of many favourite restaurants. She was a loyal and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Shirley is survived by her son, Kirby; granddaughters, Kim (Allan), Mandy and Becca; great granddaughters, Rachelle and Jordan; sister, Irma Russell (Lloyd); daughter-in-law, Flossie (Jeff). Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her son, Jeff; brothers, Greg, Dan and Murray “Stib”. There will be no visitation by request. A Graveside Service will take place at Doaktown United Baptist Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Central NB Nursing Home or the Alzheimer Society.
