Not only was Edith a great friend to my mother she'd always have some home cooking for her every time mom went over north. She'd show up at the camper for a game of skip bo and deliver the best brown bread ever!
We have an annual pig roast every year the labour day weekend and she'd always send me brown bread. There were many people who will miss that because I'd have to hide it so I'd have some left for the meal Saturday afternoon. Many friends would ask me a couple of days before the pig roast if I had the brown bread yet? If I took a loaf out it was gone - hence hiding it. I'm happy she got to come to the pig roast to see the fire works on a couple of occasions.
Every once in a while when driving to the camp I'd stop for a visit. Edith always had lots of time for anyone.
She will be sadly missed and I'm happy that I got to share some of her company.
