Obituary of Simon Rog V

The passing of Simon “Peter” Rog V of Fredericton, NB, husband of Guida (White) Rog occurred on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at Hospice House, Fredericton, NB. Born on March 31, 1936 in The Hague, Holland, he was the son of the late Simon Rog IV and the late Jannetje (Spaans) Rog. He was a member of Burtts Corner Church of Christ and served as a Deacon. Peter was a Salesman and Meat Cutter; he owned and operated his meat shop for over 20 years. He had a great love for animals, enjoyed cooking, loved gardening, liked hockey and was an avid Pittsburgh Penguins fan. Peter was a loving husband, father and grandfather. In addition to his wife, Peter is survived by his daughter, Cyndi Rog (Duane) of Edmonton, AB; sons, Michael Rog (Christine) of Ottawa, ON, Ronald Rog of Edmonton, AB and Darryl Rog (Shelby) of Stony Plain, AB; step children, Heather Reed (Mike) of Fredericton, NB, Brenda Dorcas of Saint John, NB, Wade Dorcas (Barbara) of Rothesay, NB and Cindy Love (Peter) of Keswick Ridge, NB; twelve grandchildren; five great grandchildren. Peter was predeceased by his loving pet, Ginger. Honouring Peter’s wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service. He will be cremated under the care of York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB and his remains will be in the care of his wife, Guida until the time of his final resting place, which will take place at a later date.
