Clarkson, Wilson “Dud” Edward The passing of Wilson Edward Clarkson of Stanley, NB, husband of Ardell (Fullarton) Clarkson, occurred on Friday, January 6, 2017 at the Nashwaak Villa, Stanley, NB. Born on January 6, 1929 in Williamsburg, NB he was the son of the late, Edward and Phyllis (Turnbull) Clarkson. Wilson was a retired Heavy Equipment Operator with Saint Anne Nackawic. He was a member of St. Peter’s Presbyterian Church, the Nashwaak Curling Club; he was also an Elder of 55 years at St. Paul’s/St. Peter’s Presbyterian Church and volunteered with the Terry Fox Foundation for more the 25 years. In addition to his wife of 70 years, Wilson is survived by his daughter, Sandra Spilman of Stanley, NB; son, Bernard Clarkson (Linda) of Stanley, NB; step-son Glen Hossack (Mary) of Estey’s Bridge, NB; grandchildren, Troy Spilman, Lori Anne Spilman, Craig Clarkson, Ryan Clarkson, Tamela Collrin, Sarah Billings and Amanda Waugh; great grandchildren, Cole and Kelsey Spilman, Amber Wilson, Spencer Clarkson, Colby MacIntyre, Angel, Avery and Grace Collrin, Teddy and Dane Waugh; sisters, Barbara Spencer and Mary Sauve both of Fredericton, NB; brothers, York Clarkson of BC and Vernon Clarkson (Janine) of ON; niece Annette Larlee. Besides his parents, Wilson was predeceased by his sisters, Winnifred Hovey, Doris Murray and Vesta Richard; brothers, David and Winston Clarkson; nephew, Arthur Murray. Visitation will take place on Monday, January 9, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB. A Funeral Service will take place at St. Peter’s Presbyterian Church, Stanley, NB on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at 2 pm with Rev. Doug Blaikie officiating. Interment will take place at the Williamsburg Community Cemetery at a later date. The family wishes to express a special thank you to the staff of Upper Nashwaak Community Outreach for their friendly and loving at home care, and to the Nashwaak Villa for their respectful and compassionate care they provided for the last 6 months of residence there.
