Obituary of Bertha Parker

Life Legacy The passing of Bertha “Toots” Parker of Fredericton, NB, wife of Ray Parker, occurred on Sunday, January 1, 2017 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on March 13, 1931 in McNamee, NB she was the daughter of the late Donald and Elwina (Storey) O’Donnell. Bertha was a member of the Moncton Curling Association and the Doaktown Curling Club. She enjoyed Lawn Bowling, golfing and playing cards. In addition to her husband, Bertha is survived by sons, Doug Parker (Susan) and Darwin Parker (Vicki); grandchildren, Jamie Parker (Bethanie) and Jason Parker (Jackie); great grandchildren, Nicholas and Noah; sisters-in-law, Jean O’Donnell and Irma O’Donnell; several nieces and nephews. Bertha was predeceased by sisters, Isabel “Midge” Hovey and Geraldine MacDonald; brothers, Roy, Patrick, Basil, Donald and Victor; sisters-in-law, Greta O’Donnell and Clara O’Donnell, brothers-in-law, Murray Hovey and Richard MacDonald. Although there will be no visitation, a Funeral Service will take place at St. Thomas United Church, Doaktown, NB, on Wednesday, January 4, 2017, at 1 pm. with Rev. Franklin Curtis officiating. Interment will take place in the Doaktown United Church Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
