Obituary of Glenna Dorcas

Life Legacy The passing of Glenna Rae Dorcas of Stanley, NB, wife of Glenwood Dorcas occurred on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on September 2, 1926 in Williamsburg, NB, she was the daughter of the late Hartley and Gladys (Gorman) Gallagher. Glenna was a member of the Hillcrest United Church, Life Member of the United Church Women and the Women’s Institute. She enjoyed knitting, quilting and was also a volunteer with Meals on Wheels. In addition to her husband, Glenna is survived by her daughters, Lorna Pinnock (James) of Stanley, NB and Ila Hickey (Robert) of Boiestown, NB; five grandchildren, Andrew, Joseph (Elaine MacDougall) and Nancy Green (Asaph Lantz), Jody (Jill) and Tara (Shawn) MacKinnon; great grandchildren, Callie Pinnock (Matt MacKenzie), Meredith and Gwendolyn Lantz, Matthew and Madeleine Green, Audrey and Emmeline Pinnock, Claire and Lauren MacKinnon; great great grandson, Gus MacKenzie; sister, Faye Guptill (Wayne) of Fredericton, NB; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Ottie Gallagher. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Friday, December 23, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at Hillcrest United Church, Stanley, NB on Saturday, December 24, 2016 at 2 pm with Mr. Wally Ellis DLM officiating. Interment will take place in Williamsburg Community Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
