Obituary of Phillip Barton

It is with deepest sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Phillip John Barton of Fredericton, NB, husband of the late Glenda (MacKinney) Barton occurred on Saturday, December 17, 2016. Born on January 22, 1933 in London, England he was a son of the late Samuel and Edith (Marshall) Barton. Phil retired as a Driver/Salesman. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially Karley and enjoyed spending time at Tim Horton’s. He brought the sunshine wherever he went and made everyone’s hearts glow. Phil is survived by his sons, Derrek Barton (Beth) and Phillip Barton (Valerie) both of Fredericton, NB; granddaughter, Karley Barton (Michael Wood); nieces and nephews, David Nevers, Rick Nevers, Lynn Bruce (Ronnie), Pam Barton Nierlich (Rob), Tom Barton (Letha). Besides his wife and parents, Phil was predeceased by his siblings, Thomas Barton, Irene Nevers and Alan Barton. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Memorial Service will be held from York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
