Obituary of Harold Lawrence

Life Legacy The passing of Harold Eugene Lawrence of Keswick Ridge, NB, husband of Ardith (Burtt) Lawrence, occurred peacefully on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at the Doctor Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on August 25, 1933 in Keswick Ridge, he was the son of the late Everett and Muriel (Gordon) Lawrence. Harold was a dairy farmer and an active member of the Keswick Ridge United Church having served as a Session Elder, life member of the Church Choir, Honorary Trustee and Church Treasurer for many years. Harold was a member of the Co-op Home and Farm, Holstein Canada and a Past Director of the Keswick Island Association. He was a long time blood donor and was a participant of the Hip Hip Hooray Walks. Harold is survived by his daughters, Marlene Lawrence of Fawcett Hill, NB, Lorraine Allen (Kent) of Keswick Ridge, NB; son, Beverly Lawrence (Catherine) of Fredericton, NB; step-daughters, Janet Hampton (Geoffrey) of Kingsclear, NB, Janell Alward (Troy) of Keswick Ridge, NB, Donna Alward (Gammon) of Fall River, NS; step-son Derek Jones (Sheila) of Fredericton, NB; grandchildren, Levi (Kim), Travis, Josh (Merrilee), Zak (Sandra) and Emma; great grandchildren, Oliver, Penny and Lilly; thirteen step-grandchildren and nine step-great grandchildren; sisters, Mary Hachey (John) of Homestead, FL, Joyce Lawrence (Mac Hill) of Keswick Ridge, NB, Donna Williams of Saint John, NB; brother, George Lawrence (Marilyn) of Keswick Ridge, NB; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Harold is predeceased by his first wife, Ethel (McNally) Lawrence; daughter, Sharon Lawrence; grandson, Matthew Allen; sister, Jean MacLean; niece, Amy Williams; and brother in laws, Eugene MacLean and Peter Williams. Visitation will take place at Keswick Ridge United Church on Monday, December 19, 2016 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from the church on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at 2:30 pm with Rev. David Luker officiating. Interment will take place at the Pickard – Merrithew Cemetery, Keswick Ridge, NB at a later date. Due to allergies you are asked to be scent free for all services. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Canadian Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Keswick Ridge United Church Memorial Fund or Hospice Fredericton.
