Obituary of Margaret Tuckey
Tuckey, Margaret
It is with deep sadness that the family of Margaret (Moore) Tuckey (formerly Foster), age 75, of Fredericton announces her passing on Tuesday, Nov. 15th, 2016 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born Feb. 24th, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Annie (Ross) Holland and George Moore, and was lovingly raised by her grandmother Jane Moore of Minto, NB.
Margaret is survived by her husband Harry R. Tuckey of Fredericton, NB; her children Mary-Jane Farrah (Paul) of Kingston, ON, Burton Foster (Jennifer) of Woodland, NB, Sherry Foster of Fredericton, NB, Brendan Foster of Fredericton, NB, and Shawna Brewer (Calvin) of Zealand, NB. Additionally, she has 10 grandchildren; Jolanta (Andrew Reese), Shane and Gavin Foster, Christopher (Samantha Amo) and Gabrielle Farrah, Jamie and Travis Foster, Colton and Kayleigh Brewer, and Zackary Foster. She was delighted to have 3 great-grandchildren; Tyson Foster, Autumn Reese, and Maggie Farrah. Other family members include her brother Camille Moore, step-mother Doris Moore and step-sister Linda Russell (Rival) of Burtts Corner, NB, step-father Fred Holland of Saint John, NB, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her first husband Garfield Foster and infant daughter Brenda Foster.
Throughout her life she worked at a variety of jobs including Pizza Delight, Paul’s Cookie Factory, Frank’s Fish & Chips and as a daycare provider. During her personal time she especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and lovingly shared her baking and preserving skills with them. One of her favourite activities was gardening, and over the years she had won several ribbons for her produce and preserve entries at the Fredericton Exhibition. Margaret will be remembered by those who knew her as a kind, generous, supportive, and loving person. She always welcomed friends and family into her home, and frequently hosted celebrations and meals.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, Nov. 22nd, 2016 from 12:00-1:45 PM at York Funeral Home. Funeral Service will follow in York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel at 2:00 PM with Pastor Stephen Hoyt officiating. Burial will take place immediately after the service at Kingsley-Seymour Memorial Cemetery, Kingsley, NB. Pallbearers and honourees will be Margaret’s grandchildren. A reception will follow at the Kingsley Community Church Hall.
The family wishes to thank the medical and support staff of the Medical Intensive Care Unit, Dialysis Unit, 4CN and 5CN at the Saint John Regional Hospital for their attentive care during Margaret’s five month hospitalization.
