Obituary of Vernon McNeill

Life Legacy Surrounded by his loving family, the passing of Vernon James McNeill, husband of Karen Ann (Waugh) McNeill occurred on Sunday, November 13, 2016 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on June 5, 1947 in Fredericton, NB, he was the son of the late Watson and Nellie (White) McNeill. He worked in inside/outside sales in plumbing and heating. He was a member of Dorn Ridge Church of Christ. Vernon was a past member of the Keswick Valley Volunteer Fire Department and the Burtts Corner Lions Club. He enjoyed many sports, especially golf, hunting, and fishing. Vernon enjoyed playing his guitar and loved spending time with his family. There were many Sunday family gatherings at his parents’ home and lots of music. He had a clever sense of humour. In addition to his wife of 47 years, Vernon is survived by his daughter, Jennifer O’Sullivan (Paul) of New Maryland, NB; son, Jeffrey McNeill (Joanne) of Keswick Ridge, NB; grandchildren, Kevin O'Sullivan of Waterloo, ON and Sara O'Sullivan of New Maryland, NB; sister, Miriam Hanson of Fredericton, NB; brother, Merlyn McNeill (Margaret) of Fredericton, NB; aunt, Marion McNeill of Fredericton, NB; two special nieces, Beverly Dillon (Andrew) and Carol Dobblesteyn (Peter); several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother in law, Kenneth Hanson. Visitation will take place at Burtts Corner Christian Church on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Memorial Service will take place at Burtts Corner Christian Church on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at 2 pm with Pastor Dan Foreman officiating. Interment will take place in Burtts Corner Community Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of the donor’s choice.
