Obituary of Vernon Kitchen

The passing of Vernon Milford Kitchen, of Richibucto Road, NB, loving husband of Muriel (Dykeman) Kitchen, occurred on Sunday, October 2, 2016 at the Hospice House Fredericton. Born on July 12, 1942 in Kingsclear, NB, he was the son of the late Milford and Marion (Scott) Kitchen. He worked for the Provincial Government in the Department of Finance for 34 years. Vernon was an active member of Devon Park Baptist Church, serving in various roles including deacon and assistant treasurer. In addition to his wife, Vernon is survived by his children, Debbie Lynne Kitchen, Allan Kitchen (Patsy) and Lisa Kitchen; cherished grandchildren, Jeremy Kitchen, Tyler and Jessica Farrer; siblings, Carol Chessie (Albert), Eileen Kearns (Lee), Sharon Messer (Ronnie), Marlene Phillips, Floyd Kitchen (Micheline), and Donald Kitchen (Tammie); beloved in laws, nieces, nephews and extended family. Besides his parents, Vernon was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Donnie Phillips. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB from 2-4 and 7-9 pm on Tuesday, October 4, 2016. A Memorial Service will be held at Devon Park Baptist Church on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at 1 pm with Rev. Terry Woodcock and Rev. Lawrence Meade officiating.
