Obituary of David Dunphy

Surrounded by his loving family, the peaceful passing of David Alexander Dunphy of Hanwell, NB, husband of Patricia (Cookson) Dunphy occurred on Thursday, September 15, 2016 at their home. Born on March 19, 1953 in Stanley, NB, he was the son of the late Marvin and Bernice (Williams) Dunphy. David retired as a Staff Sergeant of the RCMP and was very devoted to his work. He was an avid golfer, hunter and fisherman. David had a strong love for his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved to travel with his wife, making many happy memories together. David was the true patriarch of his family. In addition to his loving wife of 42 years, he is survived by his daughters, Roxanne Bennett (Rob Simmons) of Fredericton, NB, Tracy Polchies (Sheldon) of Woodstock, NB and Janet Vautour (Gerry) of Fredericton, NB; grandchildren, Patience, Liam, Shawnee, Hunter, Gauge, Phoenix, Ridge, Cole, Allie and Leah; sisters, Debbie Doucet (Alfie) and Lisa Cockburn (Blair) both of Fredericton, NB; brothers, Tim Dunphy (late Bette), Tony Dunphy (Mindy) and Rob Dunphy (Michele) all of Alberta; several special nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Sunday, September 18, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Memorial Service will take place at St. Thomas Anglican Church, Stanley, NB on Monday, September 19, 2016 at 2 pm with Rev. Canon Bonita LeBlanc officiating.
