Obituary of Violet Murphy

The passing of Violet Marion Katherine Murphy, formerly of New Bandon, NB, and wife of the late William Murphy occurred on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at the Central NB Nursing Home. Born on December 14, 1929 in New Maryland, NB, she was the daughter of the late Jesse and Ethel (Gibson) Fletcher. Violet was a member of McNamee Pentecostal Assembly. Violet is survived by her daughter, Wanda Price (Rev. Cole) of Guelph, ON; sons, Joseph Murphy (Lorena) of New Bandon, NB, Billy Murphy (Wendy) Grande Prairie, AB; grandchildren, Coleman Price (Lorenda), Connie Savoy (Jason), Bridget Murphy (Boomer), April Murphy (Cyril “CJ” Shute) and Deanna Norton (Scott); numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Alerie (Murray) of Midland, ON and Esther Durelle (Moies) of Baie Ste Anne, NB; brother, John Fletcher (Dorothy) of Fredericton, NB; brother-in-law, Reginald Brewer of Zealand, NB; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Violet was predeceased by her sister, Elaine Brewer; and brother, Wallace Fletcher. Visitation will take place at McNamee Pentecostal Assembly on Saturday, September 17, 2016 from 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from McNamee Pentecostal Assembly on Sunday, September 18, 2016 at 2 pm with Rev. Coleman Price officiating. Interment will be at McNamee Pentecostal Cemetery in Porter Cove. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
