Obituary of Kristine Baer

Following a courageous battle with cancer, it is with great sadness that the family of Kristine D. (Broad) Baer announces her death on Wednesday, August 17, 2016. Kristine passed away peacefully at her home in Calgary, Alberta. Born in Stratford, Ontario on November 02, 1959 she was the daughter of Joyce Bertha Broad and was predeceased by her father William A. (Bill) Broad of Fredericton, New Brunswick, and her mother and father in law, William and Agnes Baer of St. Thomas, Ontario. Kristine is survived by her loving husband of 28 years, Roger Michael Baer and their only son, Matthew Michael Baer of Calgary, Alberta; her mother, Joy Broad; brother, Karl (Beth) Broad; her sister, Karyn (Rob) Buyting all of Fredericton, NB and brothers in law, Gary Baer, Wayne (Catherine) Baer of London, ON; several nieces, nephews and many great friends. Kris’ interests ranged from camping in the Rocky Mountains, spending quality time with family and close friends in Alberta, Ontario and New Brunswick to traveling with Roger and Matt and enjoying the sun and sitting quietly on the beach, in her early years, her passion was the pool and competitive swimming. Kris, was firstly a loving mother and wife, an entrepreneur, successful business owner and licensed real-estate broker. She was a graduate of University New Brunswick, BBA class of 1981. In the early years of her career following graduation, Kris worked for Hallmark Canada, firstly in the Northern Ontario Lakes Territory and then the Southern Alberta Territory from 1981-1991. Subsequently she went on her own and became a successful Calgary business owner and commercial real-estate broker. At the Request of Kris and the family there will be no visitation. A service of memorial shall be held at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at 6 pm with the Rev. Canon Bill MacMullin officiating.
