Obituary of Gary Taylor
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gary Hilton Taylor, of Fredericton who died on July 20, 2016, surrounded by his loving family. He passed away at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital following a brief illness. Born in Fredericton, NB on July 27, 1945, he was the son of the late Hilton and Mary (Williams) Taylor.
Gary is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Donna (Thomas) Taylor; one daughter, Tymathy Dempsey (Wendell); one son, Aaron Taylor (Christine Firth); two grandchildren, Teagan and Tylar Dempsey all of Fredericton and one sister, Sandra Mitchell (Alan) of Dartmouth, NS.
Gary was a Civil Engineer, graduating from the University of New Brunswick in 1968. He started his career with NB Tel in Saint John, NB, and in later years worked in private contracting, including running his own company, Taylor Contracting Limited. He finished his career with the Department of Supply and Services, Government of New Brunswick.
Gary was devoted to his grandchildren Teagan and Tylar and loved being around them. He was affectionately known as a bit of a rogue by many of his friends. He always worked hard, loved life and lived it to the fullest. He will be sorely missed.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private ceremony for family members will be held later.
