Obituary of Lloyd Betts
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lloyd Henry Betts on July 14, 2016 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on October 10, 1937, he was the son of the late Marven and Grace (Robinson) Betts.
Lloyd was a quiet man and loved to deliver the newspaper every day to the many customers. He loved to have a little chat with them each morning. Lloyd enjoyed his homemakers, Gail Pond and Janette Munn very much, the many walks they took and the many trips to the Irving in Doaktown for his lotto tickets. Most of his life he worked for Cowie’s Esso in Doaktown, he also drove school bus and worked at Red Pines Park Camp Ground.
Lloyd is survived by his partner, Lillian O’Donnell; beloved daughter, Marlene (Stephen) Wilkinson and Lillian’s children, Travis (Kristina) and Matthew (Jessica) O’Donnell; sisters-in-laws; brothers-in-law; nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife, Helen Darrah; sisters, Leola Gustason, Jean Fraser and Doris Storey; brothers, Francis, Melvin and Stephen.
A Memorial Service will be held from St. Thomas United Church, Doaktown, NB on Friday, July 22, 2016 at 11 am with Rev. Paul McGrattan officiating. Interment will take place in Red Bank Cemetery, Chipman, NB at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to York Care Foundation, Heart and Stoke Foundation of New Brunswick or the Alzheimer’s Society of New Brunswick.
