Obituary of Willy Hatt

Willy Hatt passed away peacefully in the presence of her loving family at the Nashwaak Villa on Sunday July 3, 2016. Willy, age 92 years, born in Amsterdam Holland on February 25, 1924 was predeceased by her loving husband, John C. Hatt; her parents, Cornelia and Cornelius (Eschweiler) Klein. She leaves to morn with precious and loving memories her two sons, Rick Hatt of Saint John, NB and Kenneth Hatt (Patricia Greene) of St. John’s NL. Willy and John met in Bussum Holland during the liberation festivities in May 1945. Willy was a stay at home mother involved in the Nashwaaksis United Church Woman’s Auxiliary and Y’s Menettes Service Club. She had a great love of gardening which she shared with her mother who came to stay with the family in Canada after her husband past away. Thank you to the staff of the Nashwaak Villa Nursing Home for the loving care and attention that Willy received during her residence. Visitation will be held at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 from 12- 2 pm followed by a Funeral Service at 2pm with Rev. Kelly Burke officiating. Interment will be at Douglas Rural Cemetery on Wilkins Avenue, Fredericton North.
