Obituary of Doug Whitlock

The passing of Doug Gordon Whitlock of Fredericton, NB, husband of the late Christine (Smith) Whitlock occurred on Monday, June 13, 2016 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on March 15, 1925 in Fredericton, NB, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Pearl (Howland) Whitlock. Doug was a Car Salesman for Lawson Motors; he retired as a driver with Trius taxi. He was a member of Journey Wesleyan Church and Nashwaaksis Senior Bowling Leaque. Doug is survived by his daughters, Gloria Woolaver, Barbara Miller (Ken), Linda Seeley (Richard) and Judy Preston (Donald); sons, Bob (Simone), Bill (Jean) and Cecil (Margaret) all of Fredericton, NB; step children, Glenna Barton (Eugene) of Sherwood Park, AB, Delma Rogers (Tom) of Halifax, NS, Janet Howland and Grace Brown (Weyman) both of Fredericton, NB, Roberta Joyce (Doug) of Sherwood Park, AB and Melvin Hood of Lake George, NB; 13 grandchildren; 18 step grandchildren; brother, Allan Whitlock (Donna) of Fredericton, NB; sister in law, Jean Poirier of Saint John, NB; brother in law, Harry Smith of Fredericton, NB; step daughter in law, Wendy Hood of Magundy, NB; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and wife, Doug was predeceased by the mother of his children, Marjorie (Foster) Whitlock; sisters, Winnifred Levison and Lois Young; brothers, Roy, Gerald, Richard and Murray; stepson, Alton Hood. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Thursday, June 16, 2016 from 1-2 pm, followed by a Funeral Service at 2 pm with Rev. Paul Thompson officiating. Interment will take place in Sunny Bank Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick or the charity of the donor’s choice.
