McCue, Raymond Arthur
Raymond Arthur McCue, passed away Saturday, May 7, 2016 at the Saint John Regional Hospital after an unfortunate accident. Raymond was born August 17, 1927, the youngest of nine children born to Frederick and Martha (Murchison) McCue in Morrell Siding, NB.
In addition to his parents, Raymond was predeceased by his wife, Mary Anne (Cyr) McCue; brothers, Frederick, Donald, Myles; sisters, Kathleen, Dorothy, Agatha, Claire and Ada, as well as his step-daughter, Gisèle (Godbout) St. Amand.
He was proud of his 40 years of service to the Canadian Pacific Railway where he worked as brake-man and conductor. Raymond was also known as “The Potato Man” travelling and peddling potatoes was a pastime that he loved and truly enjoyed. This pastime also gave him the excuse of always needing a new truck. He was also always looking for a good deal in buying and selling used trucks & cars.
Raymond is survived by his daughters, Sandra McDonnell (Dan), Elaine McCue, Lisa Murphy (Ronnie) and step-daughters, Lynda Godbout and Darline Godbout. Near to his heart and also survived by several grandchildren, Joshua, Dylan, Nicole, Tiana, Amanda and step-grandchildren, Bertin, Ghislain, Paulo, Cathina, Chantal, Marco and Vicky; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Monday, May 9, 2016 from 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at 12 pm with Father Bill Brennan as celebrant. Interment will take place following the service in St. Patrick’s Catholic Church Cemetery, Grand Falls Portage, NB at 4 pm.
