Obituary of Avis Shanks

The passing of Avis Joyce Shanks of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late Hazen Shanks, occurred on Thursday, May 5, 2016 at Pine Grove Nursing Home. Born on December 22, 1925 in Devon, NB, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Mary Alice (Nowlan) Coulsey. She was a clerk at Revenue Canada Customs and Excise and also worked at Richards Electric. She is survived by her son, Rick Shanks (Connie Kelly). Besides her parents, husband, Avis was predeceased by her sister, Della Coulsey and brother, Delbert Coulsey. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Saturday, May 7, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Chapel on Monday, May 9, 2016 at 2 pm with Rev. Laurie Fenerty officiating. Interment will take place in Marysville Baptist Church Extension Cemetery, Fredericton, NB.
