Obituary of Elizabeth Turnbull
The passing of Elizabeth “Betty” Jean Turnbull occurred on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, surrounded by loving family. Born on July 5, 1932 in Fredericton, NB, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Elizabeth (White) Stephens. Betty was a retired postal clerk, a member of the St. John the Evangelist Church, and spent many years singing in the church choir. Betty enjoyed extensive travels with her beloved husband Ralph through his years of involvement with the Lions Club, enjoyed playing bridge and many other card games with friends, and loved her trailer at the lake.
In addition to her husband, Betty is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Anne Smith (Terry) and son, Ralph Turnbull (Phyllis) all of Fredericton, NB; grandchildren, Todd Smith (Kelly), Sean Smith (Linda), Jason Turnbull (Stacey), Angela Turnbull (Troy), Amanda Turnbull, Zack Turnbull and Jennifer Turnbull; several beloved great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and sister, Rowena Bartlett of Fredericton, NB. Besides her parents, Betty was predeceased by her son, Timothy; sisters, Pearl and Evelyn; brothers, Arnold and Raymond and grandson, Andrew.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside drive on Monday, April 18, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at the St. John the Evangelist Church on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at 2 pm. Interment will take place in the Douglas Rural Cemetery.
