Obituary of Donald McCoy

The passing of Donald “Donny” M. McCoy, husband of the late Betty McCoy, occurred on Friday, March 18, 2016 at his home in Fredericton, NB. Born on November 9, 1940 in Fredericton, NB he was the son of the late William and Olive (Stewart) McCoy. Donny enjoyed doing puzzle books, watching wrestling with Willy, hooking rugs, fishing and going for long drives. He especially loved spending time with his dog Daisy. Donny is survived by his sons, Donald “Donny” McCoy (Cindy), Daniel McCoy, and Justin McCoy (Heather Rushton); grandchildren, Mindy Munn (Billy), Jessica McCoy, Matthew McCoy, Jaden McCoy, Samuel Stewart and Jacob McCoy; great grandchildren, Brittney, Katelyn Addison, Gracie and Ryan; brothers, William McCoy (Glenna) and Arthur McCoy (Claurinette); several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, Donny was predeceased by his infant son, Brian in 1963 and brothers, Henry, Danny, Marvin and Robert McCoy. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 from 7-9 pm at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB. A Funeral Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at 2 pm with Pastor Normand McDonald officiating. Interment will take place at the Douglas Rural Cemetery at a later date. The family would like to give a special thank you to his homecare worker Carolyn, who greatly added to Donny’s quality of life.
