Obituary of Winfred Jones

The passing of Winfred Trueman Jones of Noonan, NB, husband of Marjorie (Sprague) Jones occurred on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on October 22, 1937 in Cloverdale, NB, he was the son of the late Murvelle and Bertie (Crabbe) Jones. He worked for Irving Oil and Modern Building Cleaners. Winfred enjoyed Nascar Racing and was an avid fan of Dale Earnhardt Jr.; he also liked camping and loved spending time with his family. In addition to his wife, Winfred is survived by his daughter, Kathy MacDonald (Jeff) of Noonan, NB; granddaughter, Michelle MacDonald of Waasis, NB; great grandson, Cole Edmondson; sister, Pauline Wallace of Cloverdale, NB; brother, Hartley Jones (Florence) of Noonan, NB; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Phyllis Watson. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Friday, March 18, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 1pm with Rev. Paul Thompson officiating. Pallbearers for the service will be Darren Jones, Ray, Clair and Wayne Wallace, Ricky Watson and Jamie Sprague. Interment will take place in Cloverdale Cemetery.
