Obituary of George Estey

The passing of George Bishop Estey of English Settlement, NB, husband of Amy (Downing) Estey occurred on Monday, February 8, 2016 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on May 5, 1944 in Woodstock, NB, he was the son of the late Ross and Glenna (Bishop) Estey. George enjoyed spending time in the woods, hunting and fishing and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his wife, George is survived by his children, Laurie McGilligan (Laurie), Bob Estey (Meredith) and Melissa Yager (Greg); grandchildren, Travis McGilligan (Emily Chenard), Brody McGilligan (Ashley Fullarton), Kyle Brown, Brandon Brown, Jordan Estey and Chelsea Yager; great grandson, Aiden McGilligan; siblings, Eugene Estey (Maureen), Russell Estey, Doris McGivney, Donna Murdock, Dale Estey (Sheila) and Anna Estey; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings, Georgie Brewer (Earl) and Merle Estey (Dinah); sister in law, Gretchen Estey; brothers in law, Charles McGivney and Bobby Murdock. A Memorial Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at 2 pm with Mr. Ray Anderson officiating.
