Obituary of Carroll Abernethy
It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of Carroll “Ted” Leon Abernethy on Sunday, January 31, 2016 at Nashwaak Villa, Stanley, NB. Born on October 8, 1928 in Durham Bridge, NB, he was the son of the late Helen (Grant) and Merlin Abernethy and husband of the late Audrey (Munn) Abernethy. Ted moved from Durham Bridge to Bloomfield Ridge in the early 50’s with his family to work as an independent trucker until the early 70’s. He then continued driving for other trucking contractors, until his retirement. Ted’s enjoyment was camping with Audrey throughout the Atlantic Provinces for many years, which included a memorable trip to the West Coast.
He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his children, Bonnie (Blair) Ramsay and Dale (Janette) Abernethy; four grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; sister, Jackie (late Norman) Stewart and Marquita (Robert) Nevers. In addition to his parents and Audrey, he was predeceased by his brother, Vaughn; son in law, Blair Ramsay and brother in law, Norman Stewart.
There will be no viewing or funeral at the request of the family. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. A special “thank you” to all the staff of Nashwaak Villa for the exceptional care that Dad received your kindness, compassion and professionalism is truly appreciated and will always be remembered by his family.
