Obituary of James Clowater

The passing of James “Jim” Wesley Clowater of Nasonworth, NB, husband of Barbara (Stone) Clowater occurred on Friday, January 8, 2016 at York Care Centre. Born on June 13, 1926 in Durham Bridge, NB, he was the son of the late Ernest and Margaret (Lipset) Clowater. Jim worked with Horsnell Machine and Iron Works and retired as the owner and operator of Jimbar Welding. His favourite pastime was spent on his farm in Nasonworth with his ponies. Jim loved to play hockey, a game he played into his early 70’s. In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by his daughters, Janice Reynolds (David) of Nasonworth, NB and Nancy Lofstrom (Richard) of Thunder Bay, ON; five grandchildren, Tammy Daigle (Chris), Tara Stewart (Andrew), Dave Reynolds Jr. (Mary-Anne), Rhea Lofstrom and Cory Lofstrom (Mallory); seven great grandchildren, Cole, Cameron, Leah, Lucy, Kate, Will and Ben; sister, Pauline Stephenson of Millville, NB; brothers, Wesley Clowater (Helen) and Jack Clowater (Linda) all of Fredericton, NB and Jerry Clowater (Donna) of Toronto, ON; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his step mother, Edith Foshay; sister, Mildred Clowater; brothers, Donald, Harold and Gordon Clowater. Following Jim’s wishes there will be no visitation. A Graveside Service will take place in the Fredericton Rural Cemetery at a late date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer Society or the charity of the donor’s choice.
