Obituary of Douglas Seely

Seely, Douglas “Doug” Randolph The passing of Douglas “Doug” Randolph Seely, of Fredericton, NB, husband of the late Noreen (Gorman) Seely, occurred on Thursday, January 7, 2016 at Shannex Nursing Home, Fredericton, NB. Born on September 20, 1926 in Tracy, NB, he was a son of the late Raymond and Jenny (Mersereau) Seely. Doug was a Salesman with Battery and Electric and a member of Luxor Shriners for over 50 years and Alexandra Lodge # 33 F & AM. He enjoyed travelling and was affiliated with Gibson Memorial United Church. Doug is survived by his son, Michael Seely (Peggy) of Fredericton, NB; step-children, Patricia Mercer (David) and Jill Jenks both of Bathurst, NB and Howard McMinniman of Calgary, AB; grandchildren, Shawn and Christopher Carr and step grandchildren, Brandon and Danielle Flagg; eight great grandchildren; sister, Doris McMinniman of Fredericton, NB. Besides his parents and wife, Doug was predeceased by his first wife, Marion June Seely; his daughter, Nancy Lynn Carr and his brother, Louis Seely. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Monday, January 11, 2015 from 1 to 2:30 pm with the Funeral Service being held at 3 pm in York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel with Rev. Cora Krommenhoek officiating. Reception will follow. Interment will take place in Sunny Bank Cemetery at a later date.
