Obituary of Raymond Haines

Life Legacy The passing of Raymond Elwood Enoch Haines of Moncton, NB, formerly of Douglas, NB, husband of Hilda (Sharpe) Haines, occurred on Friday, December 25, 2015 at the Moncton City Hospital. Born on October 12, 1926 in Tripp Settlement, NB he was a son of the late Elwood and Alberta (Wallace) Haines. Raymond was employed with the Department of Tourism until his retirement. He was an elder in Burtts Corner Christian Church and Dorn Ridge Church of Christ for 60 years. He enjoyed flowers, gardening and church ministries. His passion was music, Raymond sang in gospel quartets for many years. On December 31, they would have celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary. In addition to his wife, Raymond is survived by his daughter, Audrey Michaud (Gerry) of Oak Point, NB; sons, Dale Haines (Wendy) of Rothesay, NB, Frank Haines (Beverly) of Lower Coverdale, NB and Perry Haines (Katherine) of Fredericton, NB; grandchildren, Stephanie Stone (Cameron), Christopher Haines, Nathan Haines (Richelle), Rebecca Haines, Adrien Michaud (Ashley), Joseph Michaud (Brianna), Joshua Michaud, Kallie Haines and Zachary Haines; great grandchildren, Liam and Charlotte Stone and Yitayal Haines; several nieces and nephews, especially Miriam Pugh, Mary Jones; great niece, Heather Jones. Besides his parents, Raymond was predeceased by his sisters, Vila Griffiths (Justus), Hattie Armstrong (Charles) and Lois Merrithew (Douglas); brothers, Albert Haines (Gloria) and flying officer, Frank Haines. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at 2 pm with Pastor Gordon Weatherby officiating and Pastor Greg Sparkes assisting. Interment will take place in the Burtts Corner Community Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
