Obituary of Frank MacDonnell

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Frank (Francis) Charles MacDonnell on Monday, December 14, 2015 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Frank was surrounded by his wife and children at the time of his passing. He is survived by his adoring wife, Cathy (Scott); son, Matthew (fiancé Chelsey Kirkbride); daughter, Sarah (fiancé Emmanuel Brown) and grandson, Isaiah. He is also survived by his in-laws, Glenn and Carolyn Scott; several nieces and nephews, whom he loved and enjoyed; siblings, Alexander MacDonnell of Inverness, NS, Lawrence MacDonnell of Oveido, FL, Katherine Kennedy of Sudbury, ON and Shirley Lennon of New Glasgow, NS. He was predeceased by his parents, Alexander and Vina (MacInnis) MacDonnell and one sister, Francie McDonell. Frank was born in Inverness, Cape Breton on July 2, 1953. He worked as a snow plough operator for D.T.I. Frank was an old-fashioned family man who treasured the “old paths”. His entire focus was on Jesus and his wife and children. He was an excellent drummer, told terrible corny jokes, and loved nature. He had a heart for the broken people of the world, particularly the homeless. It is his wish that any donation in his memory be made to the Fredericton Homeless Shelter or the Community Kitchen. Frank is now in the presence of Jesus, at peace, full of Joy, and finally “home”. Although there will be no visitation by request; a Celebration of Frank’s Life will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Sunday, December 20, 2015 at 2 pm with Rev. Mike Orser officiating. It is his wish that any donation in his memory be made to the Fredericton Homeless Shelter or the Community Kitchen. The family wishes to thank NB Ambulance attendants, RCMP, DECRH ER and ICU staff for their heroic efforts and excellent care. For those who wish, condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me. Because the Lord has anointed Me. To preach good tidings to the poor He has sent Me to heal the broken-hearted To proclaim liberty to the captives And the opening of the prison to those who are bound. To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord. Isaiah 61:1-2
