Obituary of Marie Hallett
The family of Marie Eileen Hallett is saddened to announce her passing at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on Saturday, December 12, 2015. Born on July 13, 1929, Marie was the daughter of the late Wilfred and Hazel Jewett. She was a member of the Douglas Baptist Church. Marie married her husband, Marty on December 18, 1947 and had three children. She enjoyed her life to the fullest and loved her family and friends deeply. Music was a huge part of her life and she could play almost any instrument she picked up including guitar, piano, organ, harmonica and accordion. She was a woman of unwavering faith and touched the hearts of many along her journey. Marie left a bundle of loving memories with her brother, sisters, children, spouses, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, many friends and church family. She will always be remembered for her positive attitude and her ability to accept whatever challenge life presented. In addition to her volunteer endeavours, Marie worked in a variety of settings which included, Hillcrest Farms, Hawkins Realty and Remax Realty. She loved golf, bowling, singing, travel, church activities, dancing, hockey, knitting, cooking, children and dogs. Marie is survived by her children, Linda Lingley (Doug) and Gary Hallett (Sandra) both of Fredericton, NB; her grandchildren, Brent Lingley (Julie) of Fredericton, NB, Heather Lingley of Little Egg Harbour, NJ, Allison and Shannon Hallett of New Glasgow, NS, Marcus and Sara Hallett of Fredericton, NB; her great grandchildren, Anna, Olivia and Matthew Lingley and Evan Bless; her sisters, Irene Hildebrand (Doug), Carol Pond (Max) and her brother, Bob Jewett (Judy) all of Fredericton, NB; her many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Besides her parents and husband, Marty, she was predeceased by her son, Norman. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Sunday, December 20, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The Memorial Service will take place at Douglas Baptist Church on Monday, December 21, 2015 at 11am with Rev. Peter Moore officiating. Honourary pallbearers for the service will be her grandchildren. Interment will take place in Dayton Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made in Marie’s memory to the Douglas Baptist Church, Dayton Cemetery or the charity of the donor’s choice.
