Life Legacy
The passing of Ashley James Shaw, husband of Charlene (Yerxa) Shaw, of Scotch Settlement, NB, occurred on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at home with his family by his side. Born on March 12, 1946 in Scotch Settlement, NB, he was a son of the late James and Vita (Parker) Shaw. Ashley was a member of Springfield Community Church. He was a carpenter and self employed woodsmen. Ashley loved horse pulling with his brother, Albert, loved the outdoors and spending time with his granddaughter, Richelle, enjoyed attending music concerts with Clifford and was an avid hunter. He had a smile that would brighten anyone’s day. Besides his wife, Ashley is survived by his son, Jeremy Shaw; his granddaughter, Richelle Shaw; sisters, Clara Billings and Joyce Harrison (Kenny); brothers, Dale Shaw (Kathy) and Douglas Shaw (Barbara); sisters-in-law, Faith and Ester Shaw; brothers-in-law, Wendall Yerxa (Velma) and Phillip Yerxa and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Dora Yerxa; his brothers, Carl, Edison, Albert and Willis Shaw; his sister-in-law, Bev Yerxa; his brothers-in-law, Manford Billings and Russell Yerxa; his aunt, Margaret Atherton. The family would like to give a special Thank You to Dr. Andrea Hickey for her care and compassion. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Friday, December 11, 2015 from 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at 2 pm with Rev. George Clark and Rev. Hollis Clark officiating. Interment will take place in Mactaquac Cemetery.
