Obituary of Ruby Bailey

The passing of Ruby Pearl Bailey of Richibucto Road, NB, wife of the late Alden Dunphy occurred on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on April 20, 1923 in Fredericton, NB, she was the daughter of the late Rainsford and Lily (Smith) Jordan. She was a member of Greenwood Drive Baptist Church. Ruby was also a member of the Federation of Seniors and the Past President of the 55 Plus Club. She loved to quilt, bake, knit and garden. Ruby is survived by her daughter, Faye Brown (John); sons, Douglas Dunphy (Marjorie), Gary Dunphy (Susan), Frank Dunphy (Debbie) and James Dunphy (Irene) all of Fredericton, NB; grandchildren, Angela, Geoffrey, Kelly, Karrie, Heather, Lisa, Tina, Brent, Barb, Carolyn, Debbie, Abigail, Lynette, Jonathan and Nicholas; seventeen great grandchildren; special nieces, Cindy Henry, Doris Jamieson and Shiela Jordan; several nieces and nephews. Ruby was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Besides her parents and husband, Alden, she was predeceased by her husbands, Earle Hickey and Lloyd Bailey; four sisters and six brothers. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Thursday, December 10, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at Greenwood Drive Baptist Church on Friday, December 11, 2015 at 2 pm with Rev. Gordon Cook officiating. Interment will take place in Douglas Rural Cemetery at a later date.
