Obituary of Joseph Lirette
The passing of Joseph “Leon” Lionel Lirett of Fredericton, NB, husband of the late Janet (Cleghorn) Lirette occurred on Monday, December 7, 2015 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on March 3, 1941 in Moncton, NB, he was the son of the late Regis and Loretta Lirette. Leon was the owner of Capital City Roofing until his retirement and had previously owned a gun shop. He was a member of St. Mary’s Anglican Church. Leon was also a member of Ducks Unlimited and a former member of the Boxing Club. He enjoyed hunting, gardening, car racing and loved his two cats. Leon is survived by his daughters, Cathy Lirette of Fredericton, NB, Debbie Lirette and Allison Lirette both of Moncton, NB; grandchildren, Tammy Palser, Ashley Green-Karney, Ryan Green, Justin Green, Matthew Hickey, Tyler Hickey and Natalie Hickey; great granddaughter, Scarlett Hickey; numerous brothers and sisters; first wife, Florence Lirette; several nieces, nephews, and special friend, Grace Townsend. Beside his parents and wife, he was predeceased by several brothers. A Memorial Service will take place at St. Mary’s Anglican Church on Friday, December 11, 2015 at 2 pm with Canon Kevin Stockall officiating. Interment will take place in All Saints Anglican Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer Society or the St. Mary’s Anglican Church.
