Obituary of Phyllis Wheeler

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, Phyllis Alberta Wheeler wife of the late Edgar Wheeler on Sunday, October 25, 2015 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Mom was born to the late Irvine and Vida (Chase) Savage on July 20, 1927 in Barkers Point, NB. Predeceased by grandson, Troy Price; siblings, Arthur Savage, Lois Allen, Osbourne Savage, June Marie Savage, Kenneth Savage, William Savage and Florence Schriver. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Mom will always be loved and remembered by her children, Bonita Sturney, John Wheeler (fiancé Wendy), Dwayne “Tim” Wheeler, Lori Hannan (Steve) all of Fredericton, NB; Debra Price (Gil Blunden) of Nova Scotia, Jeanne Wheeler (John Arens) of Ontario and David Wheeler of Fredericton, NB. Mom adored her grandchildren, Jonah, Amy, Rose, Alex, Adam, Ryan, Melissa “Missy” and many great grandchildren. Mom was a long time member of the Douglas Baptist Church and in her younger years taught Sunday school, sang in the choir and was active on the Social Committee as well as WMS. She was a faithful prayer warrior and always remembered many birthdays and anniversaries. Mom was a fantastic cook and her favourites were pickles, beets, bread and her famous apple pies. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The Funeral Service will take place at Douglas Baptist Church on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at 2 pm with Rev. Peter Moore officiating. Interment will take place in Dayton Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Douglas Baptist Church Mortgage Fund or the charity of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
