Obituary of Robert Durling

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert (Bob) James Durling, at the age of 73, of Fredericton NB. Born on February 8, 1942 in Bridgetown, NS, he was a son of the late Kenneth and Iola (Wagstaff) Durling. He passed suddenly while visiting dear friends in Windsor, NS on Oct 22, 2015. He is survived by his immediate family; his daughter, Melissa Durling (Steve Barnett) of Fredericton, NB, his granddaughter, Ella Barnett and his wife, Nancy (Brewer) Durling. In his retirement years Bob’s focus was on his granddaughter Ella, his pride and joy. He followed her with complete admiration and love and quickly became known as Grampy Bobbert. He took pride in his scrapbook of Ella’s many accomplishments, War Amps sightings and her general comings and goings. Bob was a faithful house, dog and cat sitter for his daughter whenever requested and was always more than willing to lend a helping hand. Bob could also be sighted at a local Tim Hortons enjoying his morning tea and the daily newspaper. Bob will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, on Thursday, October 29, 2015 from 2-4pm and a Celebration of Bob’s life from 6-8pm.
