Obituary of Shirley MacDonald

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Shirley Mae (MacKinnon) MacDonald on Sunday, September 27, 2015. Born in Stanley, NB on February 3, 1947, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary MacKinnon. Survived by her children, Robert E. MacDonald (Susan Burton), Karen Langille (Roger); stepson, Jeff Kitchen (Marlene); her best friend and caregiver, Brian McCracken and his son, Aaron (Carole, Evan and Sam); grandchildren, Shannon and Emma Langille, Dan Burton, Jessie and Jody Foster, Phillip and Ryan Kitchen and Michelle Finnie; sisters, Mavis Mazerall, Jean Hood and June Elliott (Fred); brothers, Douglas (Shirley), William (Bev), Dick, Chub (Deanna); sisters-in-law, Marion and Judy and extended members of the Kitchen family in ON and NB. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her partner, Lloyd Kitchen; the father of her children, Robert J. MacDonald; granddaughter, Morgan Marie Langille; step-son, Frank Kitchen; brothers, Wendell and Clifford MacKinnon; sister, Pearl Green; brothers-in-law, Maurice Mazerall, William Hood and Willis Green. Shirley enjoyed knitting, crocheting and a craft of any kind. She enjoyed watching Blue Jays Baseball, playing horseshoes, bowling and bingo. She always enjoyed spending time with friends and family. Visitation will take place from York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service to honour Shirley’s life will take place at St. Peter’s Presbyterian Church, Stanley, NB on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at 2 pm with Rev. Kim Barlow officiating. Interment will take place at St. Peter’s Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Stanley, NB with reception to follow. Family flowers only please.
